Do Not Know Your Exact Birth Time? Your Book Is Still Deeply Personal
Many people do not know their exact time of birth. Good news: your personalized book is still meaningful and unique. Here is how we handle unknown birth times.
One of the most common questions we hear is: "What if I do not know my exact time of birth?" It is a fair concern, and the answer is reassuring — your book will still be deeply personal and uniquely yours.
Why the time of birth is used
Your date, time and place of birth together form a combination that is unique to you. We use that combination as a personalization method, so the more precise the time, the more specific the personalization. But the time is only one ingredient of several.
What happens when the time is unknown
If you do not know your birth time, we use 12:00 noon as a sensible default. Most of the personalization stays intact, and only a few finer details become approximate. The overwhelming majority of your book is shaped by your date and place of birth, which you almost certainly know.
In practice, the vast majority of customers who order with the noon default are delighted with the result. Unless you mention it, most readers would never know the difference.
How to find your birth time (if you want to)
- Check your birth certificate — the long-form version often lists the time.
- Ask a parent or close relative who was there.
- Hospital records sometimes include it.
If none of these work, do not worry. Order with confidence using the noon default. Start your book or see our FAQ for more detail.
